The Compassion Committee is a function of the Atlanta Ministerial Association, comprised of the Atlanta Assembly of God, Atlanta Christian Church, Atlanta United Methodist Church, and Eminence Christian Church.

The Compassion Committee is a function of the Atlanta Ministerial Association, comprised of the Atlanta Assembly of God, Atlanta Christian Church, Atlanta United Methodist Church, and Eminence Christian Church.
- The Compassion Committee strives to be good stewards of what God has given us and to live out the biblical mandate of caring for our neighbors (1 Timothy 6:18). Out of this commitment, the Compassion Committee has been formed to care for those in our community who are experiencing trouble securing the necessities of life—food, shelter, and utilities.
- The Compassion Committee does not provide immediate financial assistance.
- Any request can take two to three weeks to process. If you need help immediately, we suggest you visit www.auntbertha.com or dial 211 for the availability of local resources.
- Not all requests will be fulfilled; some may only be partially fulfilled.
- You will be required to evaluate your needs and plan and create action steps with a Compassion Committee Volunteer.
- If you receive financial assistance, you will be asked to complete the following steps assigned to you, which may include completing a financial planning class.
- Failure to complete the action steps will disqualify you from future assistance.
- A phone interview is a requirement for assistance.
- When applying for assistance, include any relevant paperwork that will help us assess your needs, such as utility bills, leases, letters of eviction, etc. Also, include a copy of your driver’s license or state ID.
- You must fully complete this application before consideration by the committee. Falsifying information will result in denial.
- Upon signing this document, I understand and agree that I am choosing to partner with the Compassion Committee, whose purpose is to provide support and build community in the name of Jesus.
- I understand and agree that the members of the Compassion Committee are not functioning as professional counselors or advisors and should not be held responsible for disseminating financial advice.
- Your request will be kept confidential, and someone from the Compassion Committee will contact you as soon as possible to discuss your needs.
