Doug Maris, Teaching Pastor (Part Time)

​Doug and Michelle have been married since 1990 and have lived outside Atlanta since 2003.  Michelle is a Developmental Therapist through Illinois’ Early Intervention Program, and also serves as Pastor of Special Needs Ministries with the Eastview Christian Church. Their oldest daughter Michaela is recently married to Joe Mantarian, and both recently graduated from Olivet Nazarene University and serve with a church in Bourbonnais.  Son Dylan will graduate from Olympia in 2018, is active in music and drama, and is currently weighing college options to study ministry, theology and philosophy. Daughter Mariah is a freshmen, and in addition to softball and other extracurricular activities, enjoys her small zoo of pets.
 
Doug is a 1986 graduate of Lincoln Christian College, and received both an MA (Philosophy) and MDiv (New Testament) from Lincoln Christian Seminary in 1994.  He has served in central Illinois churches in both full-time and interim ministry roles. He has served as adjunct faculty for numerous colleges including Lincoln Christian University, DePaul University, and currently teaches strategic management certification courses through George Washington University. Doug’s “day job” is serving as Vice President of Operations, and Senior Consulting, for LBL Strategies, a strategic management consulting and training firm located in Chicago.

Doug's current responsibilities at ACC include Sunday morning teaching/preaching, church leadership development, and small groups training.
